Garamba National Park, DRC

Activities

Game Drives in open safari vehicles will be available from early 2012. At first light of dawn, guest will have the opportunity to experience the early morning activity of the wild. This is the best time to spot animals before the day becomes too hot. Guests can then return to camp for breakfast after which they may choose to continue the game viewing, perhaps with a trip to the river pools. The hours around sunset again provide excellent game viewing opportunities and some spectacular dusk scenery.

Walking Safaris along the River Dungu can be arranged at the camp. With the guidance of a trained scout, guests can experience the true thrill of the bush up close and personal. Visitors opting for this opportunity will learn to track game, bird watch, listen to the incredible sounds of nature and be captivated by the small intricacies of the wild.

Discover the spectacular landscape of Garamba with an Aerial Safari in our Cessna 206. Appreciate the differences between the vast savannah and the dense forests that only an aerial view provides. This is an unmatched opportunity to take spectacular birds'-eye-view photographs and is an experience not easily forgotten.

A Camping Safari deeper into the park or in Gangala na Bodio station can be easily arranged for those who wish to experience true wilderness. We will provide you with a tent so that you can spend the night listening to the howling of hyaenas and the unmistakable song of the fiery-necked nightjar. Enjoy the sunset and sunrise of the great rolling African savannah without the disturbance of camp life.

A Cultural Walk in a local village is offered. Pay a visit to the local community, schools, churches, markets and absorb the local culture.

The lodge offers a perfect setting for Conferences and Meetings in a relaxed natural atmosphere. Facilities and a projector and a screen are available at the restaurant.
