5 Elephants successfully collared at Garamba National Park |

One of the targets in Garamba National Park for May was to capture 5 elephants and equip them with satallite collars.
To enable this mission, the rangers together with the Congolese military surveyed the zone while the capture team worked on the elephants. This operation is actually the first time that patrols have entered the park after 4 months since the LRA attack on Nagero.
5 elephants have been equipped with collars, 2 males and 3 females. As from now we can follow their movements on Google Earth, this helps us plan their protection enormously.
Dr. Pete Morkel - an expert in this field - together with the monitoring team came to Garamba NP and were able to carry out this mission successfully.
