A dream has come true for Ignacio Ballerin!
Ignacio is the first volunteer of this year whom we welcome at Garamba National Park. He has a degree in Environment Sciences and his goal will be assisting the Monitoring Department with the censuses of chimpanzees, hippopotamus and to perform an ecology study about the giraffe.
Ignacio will stay at Garamba for 8 months.

Three new volunteers at Garamba
Pavel Hejcl is doing a Master in Wildlife Management by the Prague University of Life Sciences. He will work at the monitoring department and will do research regarding the displacements of elephants.

Kenya Burgos is a telecommunications engineer. Kenya is Spanish and works in the infrastructure department to set-up a project of solar energy in the tourists and rangers camps and to repair the road to Faradje (the only access to the Park). This will be a big challenge!

Armando Menéndez has a degree in Physical Activities Sciences. He is a physiotherapist and nurse and will assist in the hospital and help regarding the organization and control of the clinic.
